How to export videos with the original audio in Coach Paint

Coach Paint supports two Disk Recorders: Disk Recorder 1 (DR1) and Disk Recorder 2 (DR2). The steps depend on which one you’re using.

Disk Recorder 1 (DR1)

DR1 is the traditional recorder and does support exporting videos with audio.

Steps:

1. Close Coach Paint

  • Make sure the software is not running before making any changes.

2. Open the Config Editor

  • Go to the Audio tab.

3. Enable audio

  • Check the “Enable” box at the top of the options.

4. Save and relaunch

  • Click OK and Save in the Config Editor.
  • Open Coach Paint again and continue working.

Important notes for DR1

  • You will not hear the audio while working in Coach Paint, but it will be included in the exported video.
  • Changing audio settings in the Config Editor will erase any imported work. Always back up your work before making changes.

Disk Recorder 2 (DR2)

DR2 is the default recorder for Coach Paint installations starting from version 9.7.
It includes improvements such as:

  • Dynamic memory allocation
  • Automatic transcoding

However, DR2 does not currently support exporting videos with audio.

If you need audio in your exported video, you have two options:

  • Switch back to DR1
  • Edit the exported video with a third-party tool

Switching from DR2 to DR1

To switch, set DR1 as your standard Disk Recorder in the Config Editor.
